Andrew was excited to participate in the Architectural Delegation to the United Arab Emirates this past November. Sponsored by the Embassy of the UAE in Washington DC and Meridian International Organization, the delegation consisted of photographers and architects from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, and Santa Fe, as well as curators from the Guggenheim Museum in New York and A&D Museum in Los Angeles.
The group spent eight days touring important cultural, architectural and historical sites in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, experiencing local culture, cuisine. Highlights of the delegation included visits to the top of the Burj Khalifa where the delegation met with the building’s director of facilities, a private tour of the massive dome and galleries of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, a hard hat tour of the Museum of the Future, architectural walking tours of downtown Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, and the Deira quarter of Dubai, and a visit to Al Ain Oasis.
