A license is basically an agreement to purchase rights to use a photo for specific (commercial) purposes. The photo license states the use (how you will use photo) and the price charged for the use. Andrew Prokos Photography is the ‘Licensor’ and the party purchasing the rights is the ‘Licensee’.
Royalty free photos allow you to pay one flat price for an photo and use it any way you like. Licensed (also known as ‘rights managed”) photos are priced by use. When you license a rights managed photo, you aren’t buying the photo, but rather the rights to use that photo in a specific way and for a specific period of time. In general, most high quality photos are rights managed, while lower quality photos tend to be royalty free.

We do not offer open-ended, unlimited, or royalty-free licenses. The reasons for that are numerous, but most importantly we control and monitor how and where our images are used very closely.

The price of a photo license depends on several factors including the intended use of the photo, the photo size, the duration of use, and the distribution of the photo. Since these factors are unique to each license we will first need to know the usage details to calculate pricing for you. Our minimum licensing fee is $600, but the great majority of non-editorial licenses will be well above that. Advertising campaign licensing fees can run into the tens of thousands of dollars, and easily over $100, 000 for worldwide use. If your budget is well below this amount we recommend searching for a royalty free stock photo.
