Andrew Prokos
Photographer's Bio
|
Andrew Prokos has been photographing New York City's architecture, skylines, cityscapes and landscapes for over ten years. The resulting body of work is one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of New York City photographs by a single photographer. Andrew unfolds the changing face of New York City by capturing the same location at different times of day and in every season. His commitment to documenting New York City often requires the patience to wait for just the right light, and to be prepared to shoot on a moment’s notice when it arrives. It has also led him to hang from the Manhattan Bridge at night, shoot ankle-deep in the East River, and dodge oncoming traffic on Park Avenue at night in order to capture the perfect long-exposure light trails. .The resulting images allow the viewer to revel in the beauty of New York City and witness its spectacular transformation over time.
Andrew has worked on assignments and commissions for clients in advertising, real estate, interior design, government and corporate art. Recent commissions include documenting rapidly developing Long Island City, Queens for the New York City Economic Development Corporation and custom panoramic photography of Washington DC for Cisco Systems, Inc. Andrew's work has been exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York and in corporate collections throughout the USA, including Anheuser-Busch, Cisco Systems, Kimpton Hotels, KPMG, Merrill Lynch & Co., Moody's Corporation, and OppenheimerFunds.
In addition to his renowned fine art photographic prints, Andrew's photography is featured in various product lines sold around the world. Product lines include framed fine art reproductions, wall murals, postcards and other printed items. Andrew welcomes inquiries regarding photo commissions, image licensing, and fine art print sales.
